Noises Off
Went to the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, which I think is the most beautiful location for a theatre I have ever seen (and I have been to Sydney).

The first thing to say is that it's a jolly place full of staff enjoying themselves and wanting to make sure every visitor has a wonderful time. The play Noises Off by Michael Frayn is a farce, a format I know little about but one that seemed to require a great deal of effort on the part of the performers to make it look effortless and almost unrehearsed. I sometimes found the exact details quite difficult to understand, but I think you are not really supposed to follow that closely. That is not the point. It was interesting that the lines that worked the best were the ones specifically designed for this matinee performance, referring to the fact that we were an audience of pensioners, which we were. This theatre is a gem and anyone who loves theatre should visit it and enjoy it.
