There are about a dozen rail stations in Izmir, so it's hard to decide where to start. I got advised to go to the old part of town.
Old it was but more like east London in the fifties, complete with bomb sites for god's sake. It was not Roman: more like the Roman Road, if you know where that is in the east end.
But the city does have a fabulous park, great museums, expensive eateries and an awesome public transport network.
Anyone who believes home delivery is a new thing may be surprised by this.
I would say this plant somehow surviving in the trash on the pavement is an amaryllis but my phone says hippeastrum.
Where else would you put a boat?
