Kusadasi
Went to Kusadasi which is an impressive place, like Marseille or perhaps Manly. I thought of taking a boat trip but the one I fancied, a pirate ship, was booked. Kusadasi is all sea front, restaurants, bars, cafes; they even have fish and chip shops! I went to an impressive looking castle stuck out on an isthmus, guarding the bay. Here I learned that Roman weights were sometimes given identities; so you’d say pass the lion rather than the 5lb weight. Clever and somehow cute. Kusadasi is everything the other places I have been to are not. Well organised and professional looking. Nice in its way but give me a little chaos…
