When I opened it up and gave it some water a few small shoots spluttered to life but then died. I thought my home must be too cold, so I took the pot to the windowcill where last year's Amarylis stood. It had thrived in the way that Amarylises do. They tend to be very vigorous.
The new model just sat there and did nothing. You can see the pot. However, last year's Amarylis did what they are not supposed to do. It came back to life.
Very strange for what I had previously believed was an annual.
I wondered if it had been encouraged in some mystical way by the new pot?
