On this day Hamas managed a sneak attack, killing hundreds of Israelis and capturing many more as hostages. This link gives a view about what Hamas is. Nothing you read online about Hamas will be fair or unbiased. In war (and that is what both Hamas and Israel describe the current situation as) truth is the first casualty. Israel has some of the finest intelligence agencies in the world. How could Israel have failed to notice that something of this size and scale was about to happen? Israel was also warned about the attack by Egypt, according to USA House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee head Michael McCaul. "We know that Egypt has warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen," he said. See BBC report. According to Wikipedia the much feared Mossad, Aman (military intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security) are the main Israeli agencies but there are also semi private spin offs. These include TOKA, which claims to be able to hack into appliances like white goods, and NSO, the agency behind Pegasus. Pegasus is malware that enables the taking over of a mobile phone. When details of this vile malware were published in leading newspapers around the world it was said 50,000 phone numbers, many belonging to journalists and political activists, had been infected. It is difficult to believe that Pegasus (or perhaps Pegasus mark two, if such a thing exists) had not been used to extract information from people within Hamas or close to the organisation.
