A day to go nowhere?
Cars are hugely controversial, especially in the wake of Tony Blair's encouragement of diesel traffic which has massively increased toxic vehicle emissions.

But there's one thing motorheads and greens can agree on: Parking is a good thing. A parked car makes no emissions and rarely runs down a cyclist.

Since nearly everyone is in favour of parking that puts it into the camp of the sorts of things special days are devoted to so perhaps there should be a world parking day. July 24 would be a good choice, since so many garage doors have 24/7 painted on them.
